The Queensland Bike Trials Club held the third round of the National Trials Bike series at Greenlands west of Stanthorpe last week. Competitors, both local and overseas, came together to compete in this growing sport.
For those that don’t know what trials biking is, it involves manoeuvring a special bicycle over a series of natural objects, like boulders and/or logs, following a set course against the clock. The winner is the competitor with the least number of faults to complete the course within the set time frame. The riders need strength as well as balance and co-ordination to complete the short but arduous courses successfully.
Three classes were represented, Introductory, Elite and Pro.
In the Introductory class the only competitor was Don Rolands.
In the Elite class first was Lewis Greenhalgh, second Sean Blue and third Kyle Rolands.
In the Pro class first was Jack Mullay, second Joel Nelson and third Borys Zagrocki.
