GOLFIN’ IN THE RAIN, JUST GOLFIN’ IN THE RAIN

Organisers last Saturday’s medley 4BBBat Stanthorpe Golf Club were delighted with the numbers who turned out for the event despite the early start and the unpleasant conditions. When the rain arrived during the course of the morning scoring on the back nine became difficult.

Angelo Maugeri and Aaron Simmers defied the conditions and held off the opposition to win the event. However three teams all finished on 46 points. A count back was required to determine the winning team.

Ron Hansen and Kay Webb finished in the runner’s up position while Ken Hinze and Viv Thouard topped of the run down.

Pin shots went to Daryl Boekholt at 3/12 and Anthony Marino at 17. Jean Gilmour held the ladies approach at 17. Pro-pins went to Simon Leigh at 1/10, Anthony Marino at 5/14 and Geoff Patti at 9/18. Birdies nest won by Aaron Simmers.

In the run downs, a ball each to all seven teams with a score of 41 and better.

Tom and Tom Fittock sponsored the day and provided the trophies for all events.

Madelaine Jarman had her Australia Day pride named”best dressed” for flying the flag on Australia Day.

Next Saturday players will be competing for the February Monthly Medal and putting competition. The vent will be sponsored by Len Leigh. A reminder that tee of is back to the normal time 11.30am and th3e time sheet is on the board.
