Dual Olympian and Tokyo 2020 Beach Volleyball Silver Medallist, Taliqua Clancy is calling on aspiring Southern Downs athletes aged 13 to 23 to join the quest for medal success and register for Queensland Academy of Sport’s YouFor2032 Talent Identification Program, which is heading to the Warwick Indoor Recreation and Aquatic Centre (WIRAC) on Saturday, 21 May.
Queensland Academy of Sport was pivotal in Taliqua’s road to Olympic success, pushing her to become the strongest version of herself with high-level coaches, training environments and facilities, and “formula one” support teams.
Now, the Dual Olympian and Beach Volleyball champion is teaming up with the organisation, calling on the next generation of Olympians aged 13 to 23 across the Southern Downs to take the leap and register for this week’s testing session.
Queensland’s Sport Minister and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympic and Paralympic Sport and Engagement Stirling Hinchliffe said Youfor2032 was Australia’s largest ever athlete talent identification program.
“Youfor2032 registrations open today, giving coaches, teachers and parents the chance to nominate aspiring young Queensland athletes for a fast-track to the medal winners’ podium at the 2032 Games,” Mr Hinchliffe said.
He stated that this won’t be the only road to Brisbane 2032, as “Youfor2032 is an alternative pathway to help maximise the number of podium-ready Queenslanders for Queensland’s Games”.
“Funding for the QAS has been doubled to $29.3 million by the Palaszczuk Government to help high-performance experts find and nurture our potential stars of 2032.”

There will be three sessions, running from 9 am to 11 am, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
