Bright day for good cause

And it's all yellow. A little Yellow is just not enough on Hello Yellow Day as Lisa Stuart in tutu wig and feather boa demonstrated in 2021.Her playing partner also added yellow wig and added a buggy with a splash of Yellow for effect.

It will be a bright day on the course on 28 August with the Stanthorpe Golf Club hosting the annual Hello Yellow Day fundraiser.

Organising committee member Kay Webb said the day was a popular part of the calendar.

“The Hello Yellow Day has really crept up on us all this year,” she said.

“In fact, it is just a little over a week away. The event is sponsored by Stanthorpe Community Bank / Bendigo Bank.”

Webb said the Stanthorpe Cancer Support Group would again be the beneficiary of the fund raising ensuring the funds raised remain in and benefit members of the local community.

She said the day is open to all comers and an official golf handicap is not required. This will be supplied on the day.

The format of play is a person three person Ambrose. Golfers and non-golfers are encouraged to put together a team of three and nominate.

Web said it was a fun day for an excellent cause.

“There will be plenty of novelty prizes, awards for best dressed golfers, the best dressed buggy and plenty of raffles in support of the Cancer Support Group,” she said.

“The Rotary Club of the Granite Belt will again lend their support by partnering with the Golf Club and the Hello Yellow sponsors manning the BBQ from tee off until late.

“You can nominate by contacting the club or why not visit the club and add your names to the time sheet on the board.

“Then all you need to do is get to work on your “Yellow Outfit” and the decorations for your buggy.”
