It’s been four year’s since they held a Karara Campdraft but the event was back with avengence this year with campdrafters from around the region converging on Karara for the event at the weekend.

Organiser Lloyd Hilton said it was a welcome return.

“It went well, the cattle ran well and the ground was good,” he said.

“We had around 190 each in the Maiden and Novice and we had around 36 in the Encouragement, about the same for the Juvenile and 12 for the Junior.

“We usually have it every year but we’d had it since 2019, since Covid. It was really good to have it back. There was a good crowd, plenty of support.”

He said there was great support from the whole community and he thanked all of the sponsors who came on board to make the events return such a success.

Lloyd said now it was back the campdraft would now return to being a yearly event.

The cattle for the weekend was provided by Beef Feeders, Mark Lawler, Darry and Nicole Haywood and Brian and Keeley Allport.
