Allora Bowls Club has celebrated its 90th and the first night of the club’s night bowls season with a BBQ for members and guests this past week.
“It was wonderful to see so many people not only players experiencing the hospitality of the Allora Sports Club,” organizers of the event said.
“It was very special to have Leona Sinton, Heather Slatter, Kay Bloomfield and Lynn Patterson to cut the beautifully decorated anniversary cake. These people have been members of the club for a very long time and it was wonderful to welcome them back.
“A presentation was made to a very surprised and deserving Greg “Patto” Patterson for the dedication and work he has put into the Tuesday night Social Bowls.
“Greg started night bowls 15 years ago when the Allora Bowls Club nearly disbanded and it is now a great night for many people with 14 teams (42 players) enjoying the game.”
After new players were welcome, old players ready, it was game on.
