Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club back on the range

The Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club members.

The Clifton Benchrest Shooting Club held their first Rimfire and Centrefire monthly competition shoot of the year on Sunday with the wind proving tricky on the day for the 16 adult shooters and one junior.

Rifle Captain Gary M displayed his usual accurate form, winning the Men’s Open Rimfire with a score of 579.18, second Bob W 569.8 with Jake P in third with 564.5

In the Ladies Open Rimfire the win went to Ashleigh B with a score of 576.16 followed by Helen M with score of 571.22.

Best cards for the day: Hunter class Gary M 198.6 I 20A.20 RBA, Gary M 233.5 I 25A.25 Rabbit and Crow, Ashleigh B 149.9 / 150.15.

Senior Factory Rimfire winner was Vincent A with a score of 560.7, second was Margaret S with 535.10 while Tony B was third with 535.

Junior shooter Rebekah R came first with a score of 539.14.

There were nine shooters for Centrefire with two ladies joining the men in this shoot which was won by Lance T with a score of .3892 with Luke S and Gary M both finishing second with a score of .4410, while third was Helen M with .4482. Helen, also took out smallest group for the day with a score .154

The Pistol competition was held on Saturday 10 February and was won by Vincent A with a score of .214, second place went to John B and Daymon M both scoring .22g, placing third was Richard B with a .218.

The shotgun event was held on Sunday 11 February. Seniors: Jacob F 68 per cent, Paul F 560/0, John M 46 per cent Junior: Cooper S 44 per cent.

The Dave Harrison Memorial shoot will be held on Sunday 17 March.
