The Warwick Gardens Galore Redbacks will host their Steve Gray presentation night this Friday at their Redbacks clubhouse after finishing their AFLQ Darling Downs season at the weekend.

The match, at Rockville Oval against the Toowoomba Tigers was a celebration of Jack Fletchers 100th game and the retirement of Cam Goulter after 247 games in the Darling downs however Redbacks were unable to rise to the occasion and take the points.

The visitors went down 2-5-17 – the Toowoomba Tigers 20-9-129 at Rockville oval.

They created opportunities early in the first quarter but failed to impact the scoreboard, missing the mark inside 50, the Tigers however rebounded well with the first four goals of the match until Ryan Clark found the goals late in the first quarter.

The Tigers dominated the second quarter putting the game to bed with a resounding 6 goals to none washing away any hope of a Redbacks comeback. Rohan Drummond kicked his fourth goal for the half and Stuart bright his third, proving too strong for the Redbacks defence.

Bailey Glasscock kicked back-to-back goals from outside 50 midway through the third quarter in the back of a dominant display from the hard running Tigers stretching the score out to 96-9 at three quarter time.

The Redbacks had opportunities again to score but only managed three behinds with Tyhe Clarkson, Augustus Macdade and Jake Willett all missing shots at goal.

The Tigers finished well with another five goals, however the retiring Cam Goulter had his moment, kicking a goal midway through the final term in his farewell game.

Tyhe Clarkson worked tirelessly with 36 disposals and 11 clearances for the game, Chris Wynd was relentless with his attack at the contest, taking 3 intercept marks and making his presence felt at each contest. Augustus Macdade was awarded the 6 pack for best on ground with his 26 disposals 6 mark game and proved to be a handful when given a chance through the midfield. Captain Steven Grogan was an inspiration with 10 marks and 21 disposals in the game, putting his body on the line in aerial contests all day. Vice captain Anthony Rixon again showed his ferocious attack in defence, capping off a brilliant year with another strong game and Zac Wall finished his debut season with 21 touches and 4 clearances to go with 6 big marks.

Jack Drewery made the move to Tigers spearhead Rohan Drummond in the second half keeping him to just one goal after a four goal first half and Jake Willett played one of his best games of the year finishing with 11 disposals, 7 hit outs and 3 marks.

Best: Tyhe Clarkson, Chris Wynd, Augustus Macdade, Steven Grogan, Anthony Rixon and Zac Wall. Goals: Ryan Clark 1, Cam Goulter 1.
