The Stanthorpe soccer season came to an exciting and colourful end on CF White Oval, Stanthorpe on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Football Stanthorpe hosted five finals from juniors through to the men’s and women’s events throughout the day.
It was Ballandean’s day, with the club winning two of the three finals they contested.
The club took out the Senior Colts title in penalty shootout 5-4 over United after the two teams had been locked at nil-all at full time.
Earlier the Ballandean club had won the Junior Colts game 5-2 over Carlton.
However the day didn’t go all Ballandean’s way with Carlton exacting major revenge for their early loss to take the coveted men’s title one-nil over Ballandean.
The Ladie’s game was a tough affair with United coming away with the trophies three-nil over Inter while the first game of the day, the Fillies was also a United-Inter affair however in this case it was Inter’s day, also taking the game three-nil.
There was a big crowd there to watch and while the canteen was kept busy all day, photographer Lachlan Gow was arguably one of the busiest people at the ground taking pictures of all the games, the presentations and the crowd through out the day.
