Road repairs may cause delays

FLOOD-RELATED repairs worth $12.6 million are underway on the New England Highway between Toowoomba, Warwick and Wallangarra.
The works are delivering 6km of repairs in total at various locations, said Member for Southern Downs Lawrence Springborg.
Crews are currently working at the intersection of Cambooya Connection Road and New England Highway, 20km south of Toowoomba.
These works are being delivered under Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), a joint federal and state initiative.
Funding has also been provided to upgrade the intersection with widening to include slip lanes and improved lighting, with the work expected to be completed mid-November.
Repairs will then continue south of Warwick between the intersections of Bracker and Rosenthal Road starting from mid-October.
Motorists are advised stop/go conditions will be in place and to plan for some delays.
Again, these works are being delivered under Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
Under NDRRA, the Australian Government provides 75 per cent of the funding, with 25 per cent from the Queensland Government.
