TENTERFIELD will host a raft of events and wellbeing activities this month to raise mental health awareness.
Just like our physical health and fitness – mental health is worth taking care of. This is true for everyone regardless of whether they have or have not experienced mental illness.
Tenterfield Hub and Tablelands Mental Health have lined up a program of free events for October. These kicked of on Wednesday 9 October with a free movie screening.
World Mental Health Day on Thursday will see chalk art on the town cycleway while there will be an introduction to Art Therapy at the Community Hub at 1pm.
Families are welcome on to a Mental Health Awareness Walk on Sunday, starting from the pool end of the creek walk from 11am.
The Mental Health Social Group will then host a barbecue in Jubilee Park, Manners Street from 12.30pm.
“The many free activities helps encourage everyone’s participation,” Gail Galloway from Tenterfield Community Hub said.
“The focus is on fun physical activity, information and experiences that make a positive difference.”
