PINK ribbon fundraising began in Killarney in 2006 when 30 people enjoyed brunch and raised $320.
Since then there has been a huge increase in both participation and funds raised and the annual event has become an institution on Killarney’s social calendar.
Wonderful support from many business houses from Killarney, Warwick, Toowoomba, the Gold Coast and individuals from near and far the brunch has raised over $135,000 for breast cancer research.
This year the format will be changed from brunch to a to a morning tea.
“This will allow our wonderful volunteers in the kitchen to enjoy the social side of the morning,” said organiser Margaret Grayson.
“This year we have a guest speaker and the Cancer Council will be represented by staff and friends from the Toowoomba office.
“A decorated cupcake auction is new this year and will complement our multi-draw raffle and silent auction,” said Ms Grayson.
Killarney Pink Ribbon silent auction items include pressure pumps, coffee maker, 4WD gear and a Kardashian handbag.
