WARWICK has new doctor, further taking pressure off medical services in the city.
Dr Anupam Kumar started work at Peppertree Medical on 8 October.
Dr Kumar completed medical training in emergency medicine and orthopaedics in England before moving to Australia where he furthered his emergency medicine skills and trained as a General Practitioner.
He also specialises in chronic disease management and skin cancer.
“I like emergency medicine too because it’s one of my specialties, Dr Kumar said.
His wife is also a doctor and she hopes to enter General Practice after her hospital rotations are completed.
Practice manager Barbara Austin said Peppertree Medical had been dependent on short-term locums since they acquired the practice in May last year, but now had two full-time doctors available.
“We pride ourselves on being a small family-owned practice with personalised service,” she said.
Popular doctor Lorna Reid will return to the practice at the end of the month.
