Man surrenders

WARWICK POLICE

WARWICK police were surprised when a local man reported himself to PoliceLink, saying he was in possession of cannabis.
Police proceeded to Palmerin Street just after midnight on 31 October where the man admitted he had cannabis on his person. Police located four grams of marijuana. The man was granted diversion to a drug education and treatment program.
On 4 November police attending a Wattle Ave premises on another matter noticed an alleged drug pipe, or bong. They searched the property and seized the bong, a grinder and material suspected of being cannabis. A Warwick female was issued with a Notice to Appear.

Ammo seized
POLICE also searched a premises at Ogilvie Road, Warwick and found concealed vials of steroids, syringes and used needles, and ammunition.
A 26-year-old local man was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of dangerous drugs; possession of items used in the commission of a crime; failing to take reasonable precautions in regard to needles and syringes; and possession of explosives. The man was granted bail to appear at a later date.

Drivers caught
A WARWICK man was intercepted on Jellicoe St driving a Toyota Celica at about 5.30am on Saturday morning, 2 November.
He was breath-tested and returned a Blood Alcohol Content more than twice the legal limit. He was issued a Notice to Appear for a mid-range drink-driving offence.
On Sunday, 3 November at around 1.10am police intercepted a Holden sedan on Cunningham St, Warwick. The driver was charged with a mid-range drink driving offence.
Later that morning a female resident of Warwick was charged with a mid-range drink driving offence after she was stopped on Jackie Howe Drive at 5.05am.

STANTHORPE POLICE
Dogs on job
STANTHORPE police, backed by drug detection dogs and extra officers, executed a number of search warrants as part of Operation Lima Dambulla and charged a number of people with drug offences as a result.
A search of premises in Whiskey Gully Road located a quantity of cannabis and drug paraphernalia resulting in a 26-year-old occupant being charged with drug offences.
Police seized a number of mobile phones, laptop computers and financial records. Further enquiries are to be conducted.

Drugs charges
A SEARCH in Matthew Street, Stanthorpe, resulted in two women, aged 31 and 49 years, being charged with possessing dangerous drugs and utensils.
Police located a quantity of amphetamines, cannabis, smoking pipes ammunition and a home-made concealable .22 calibre firearm when they executed a warrant on premises in Gla-nor Drive.
Two men aged 26 and 27 years were charged with various offences as a result.
Further search warrants at Cottonvale and Applethorpe resulted in two men, aged 31 and 47 years, being charged with possessing a quantity of cannabis and smoking utensils.
A 26-year-old man was also charged with possessing drugs and smoking utensils after a search warrant on premises in Bridge Street.

Crop found
WALLANGARRA Police have executed a search warrant on premises in Margetts Street, Wallangarra, resulting in the location of a number of well-established cannabis plants with a combined weight of more than nine kilograms.
The plants, estimated to have a street value in excess of $30,000, were located concealed in a shed and growing under lights and heating.

Domestic arrest
POLICE responding to a domestic incident in Gla-nor Drive have charged a 24-year-old old man with wilfully damaging the window of a vehicle at that location. The male was detained and application made for a Domestic Violence Order as a result of the incident.

Drug-drivers
A 24-YEAR-OLD male tourist was intercepted for a random breath test at Applethorpe on Saturday afternoon.
A search of his vehicle located cannabis in the glovebox of the vehicle resulting in him receiving referral to a drug diversion program.
In a separate incident, Police conducting traffic patrols on Sunday night charged the driver of a vehicle with four drug offences after a quantity of amphetamines was located in the vehicle. The 30-year-old man from NSW will face court later in November.
