STARTED in 2011 as an arts hub for those with a disability or health problems, Stanthorpe’s Artworks on Davadi has matured into a community hub accessed by the broader community.
Artworks has a vibrant program planned for 2014 and is now recruiting volunteers.
Those interested are invited to attend an information evening at Artworks on Tuesday, 14 January at 6.30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
“The Artworks volunteer programme has been established as a way for people to get involved with Artworks and their community,” co-ordinator Sonja Salzke said.
“As a creative learning and sharing hub Artworks is looking for ‘crews’ to get involved in the cafe, the gallery, at fund-raising events, in the community cinema space and in the new ‘enterprise initiative’,” Ms Salzke said.
“Volunteering and being involved in Artworks is fun. You have the chance to offer your skills or to develop new ones.
“It is a great way to meet people and in turn it helps build and support our community as a whole.”
