Southern Downs Rifle Club

SUNDAY 26 January, the club was on the 600-yard range, on a very tough day with gusty wind that swirled about the range giving all those at the event a difficult time during their shoot.
The scores for the target rifle class (iron sights) out of a possible 105 were: Rob Bondfield 103.10, Terry Pearce 98.4, Chris Neave 94.4 and Merv Bray 82.2 – a great score from Rob Bondfield who hasn’t shot for some time. Welcome to Terry Pearce from Toowoomba.
The scores for the F class (scope class) out of a possible 126 were: F open Paul Findley 115.1, David Taylor 109.1 and Margaret Taylor 104.1. The scores for F standard were Beth Caskey 112.4, Bob Tyllyer 111.2, Barry Russell 111.2 and Graham Eagle 99.4. Bob Tyllyer won over Barry Russell on countback for their placing on the day.
The next event on 2 February will be on the 300-yard range.

The 300-yard range is a great range for those with .303 rifles to come along and test their skill.
Come along and try long range target shooting for a sport, you will find it a great sport to be involved in and you will meet some great people who are only too happy to help you on the day.
