Water on, errant mice out

SOUTHERN Downs Regional Council workers have cleaned up after two mice made a mess of the switchboard at the Warwick Water Treatment Plant.
The mice created extensive damage to this vital piece of equipment.
Water and wastewater manager Tendekai Mapeza said council conducted the repair work on Sunday.
They had anticipated that water supplies would be shutdown to a large part of Warwick, but were able to use another power source during the repair work.
“Residents would probably have only noticed a small reduction in water pressure, if any,” Mr Mapeza said.
“The repair work took about three hours and we are pleased with the results.
“Again council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks everyone for patience during the shutdown,” he said.
