WAS that an early chill from a sou-westerly, or just the first whisperings of Jumpers and Jazz in July?
It is certainly time to start making plans for Warwick’s premier winter event that transforms the CBD streets into a living gallery, with more than 100 handmade artworks installed on bare winter trees.
Event organisers Warwick Art Gallery and Warwick Tourism and Events have designed a suite of three brochures to entice visitors and locals to attend and participate in all the quirky fun that the festival offers.
Jumpers & Jazz in July has over the past decade woven its way into the hearts of locals and visitors who celebrate winter and the community’s love of art and music.
Visitors enjoy live jazz performances by some of South Queensland’s most popular jazz musicians to the backdrop of colourful knitted art or a warm winter fire.
Warwick Art Gallery staff and volunteers have begun co-ordinating the signature event of the festival – the tree jumper exhibition.
“Once we open the registrations we expect the trees to book up really fast”, Warwick Art Gallery Director Karina Devine said.
“Our stand alone Tree Jumper brochure is your complete guide to being part of the most loved activity of the festival.”
The Tree Jumper brochure has a detachable entry form that participants old and new must complete and return to the gallery as early as possible.
There is also a new section especially for schools wanting to decorate the trees in their grounds.
A second brochure with key event dates has been created as a quick snapshot that visitors need around the why, when and where of the festival, which runs from 17 to 27 July.
