A NEW art is being held in conjunction with this year’s Warwick Show and it’s attracting a lot of interest.
The Contrasts Art Show will begin with an official opening might on Saturday at 6.30pm, a week before the actual agricultural show begins.
The theme for the event is Arabian Nights and groups and individuals within the community are combining their talents to make this a memorable evening.
The annual art show, held in conjunction with the Warwick Show each year, is being revamped and has been renamed Contrasts Art Show.
As part of the overhaul, prize money has been increased and the range of art categories has been updated to encourage entries from across our local community and surrounding areas.
There are 11 art classes in total with new sections this year for printmaking, 3D Art, textile art, indigenous Australian art, and artists living with a disability that impacts on their art creation.
Judge for the event will be Tina Wilson BABU (Hons), with a major prize of $1500 with thanks from sponsors the National Australia Bank.
Tickets for the Contrasts Art Show Official Opening this Saturday night will be available at the door and the cost is $18 per person and include a complimentary glass of wine and cheese, then a light supper will be served a little later in the evening. Bookings would be appreciated by RSVP to the show office on (07) 4661 9060.
The Warwick Show opens on 21 March and runs for three days. During this time Contrasts Art Show will be open to the public in the “new” art pavilion.
