THE Inaugural meeting of the Tenterfield Progress Association will be held at the Royal Hotel Dining Room Tenterfield on Saturday, 15 March at 1pm.
Orgainser Robert Walker said thirty people had registered to join the group however all were welcome. He said there would be no charge but a gold coin donation would be appreciated.

Seniors week grant
TENTERFIELD Senior Citizen’s committee is set to run a program of events for NSW Seniors Week next week.
Senior’s week, which this year carries the theme Live Life! is held from 15-23 March.
NSW member for the Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said the Tenterfield Shire Council had received $1000 from the State government to assist with organising festivities.
“Because seniors play a significant role in our society, they deserve to be celebrated and have their contributions honoured,” Mr Marshall said.
“The NSW Government wants to make sure that there is plenty to do this Seniors Week (15-23 March) and Guyra Shire Council, the Inverell Art Society, the Tenterfield Senior Citizens Committee and the Walcha Council are each receiving $1000 to assist with the staging of their particular events,” he said.
Mr Marshall said the Tenterfield Senior Citizens Committee had arranged for numerous people to speak on matters of interest to seniors.
“The topics include the gardening for seniors, understanding new technology and various types of arts and crafts,” he said.
On Monday 17 March, a lunch and afternoon tea, along with entertainment for participating seniors, will be provided at the Golf Club. A movie and bus trip is also on offer later in the week. Check with the council for details.
