A WARWICK car dealer, who is trying to help with local drought relief this month, has won a major award.
Cassels Automotive have launched a campaign to donate five bales of hay to drought relief for every car sold during the month of March.
But even before that program kicked in the local business was recognised for their service to their local community, winning top Northern Region Subaru Retailer of the year.
Sales team member Jeremy Ralph said it was the first time the team had ever won the award which takes in all 15 dealers (outside of Brisbane) throughout country Queensland and the Northern Territory.
“Its quite an honour,” he said.
“David (dealer principal David Cassels) received it at the annual national Subaru Dealers Award in Sydney two weeks ago.
“It was certainly a surprise.”
The award takes in all aspects of the business.
“Sales is quite key but customer satisfaction is also important as well as the service department and parts – it is all encompassing.”
And if there current campaign is any indication they may be in the running for the top award next year.
Realising that the district, which is now officially in drought, is doing it tough Mr Ralph said David Cassels and the staff decided to help out by donating to drought relief.
He said the plan was to donate five bales of hay for every car sold during March.
“We understand their plight, everyone has experienced a downturn,” Jeremy said.
“The drought was only declared this month but it has had a grip on the area longer than that.
“We have a lot of customers who have been doing it tough.”
