LARGE numbers of visitors took advantage of the great weather in the Granite Belt during the Easter period but despite the large number of visitors, the area remained free from traffic crashes.
Police also took part in Operation Unite over the weekend targeting alcohol-fuelled violence in licensed premises however no liquor related offences, including assaults, were attended by police.

Drugs siezed
A CONSIDERABLE number of drug offences were detected by Stanthorpe and Wallangarra police during the past week both in vehicles and as a consequence of search warrants on premises.
Search warrants on three premises, two in Stanthorpe and one in Wallangarra resulted in the seizure of cannabis, amphetamines and drug paraphernalia, while similar property was located during the search of seven vehicles, four in Stanthorpe and three in Wallangarra.
Twelve offenders were charged and will face Stanthorpe Court in May charged with a variety of drug offences.

Vehicle fire
POLICE are investigating the wilful destruction of a vehicle by fire after it was located ablaze in Jimmy Mann Road, Broadwater shortly after midnight on Saturday.
