Old Chevs rallying round

THE Veteran and Vintage Chevrolet Association of Australia’s 45th Anniversary Rally, has been hailed as a great success.
Warwick Tourist and Events CEO Tracy Vellacott said organisers seemed extremely pleased with the six day event, which featured 81 cars and more than 150 people from around Australia heading into the area.
“I got along to their dinner on Thursday night and it would seem the Queensland organisers feel they have offered something spectacularly different to previous events and have now challenged the southerners to follow their lead,” Tracy said.
“By incorporating the steam train, live rodeo displays, Granite Belt wineries, as well as gorgeous scenic drives, not to mention an illusionist/magician at the final dinner, they are of the view that visitors really got to experience the region, not just drive it.”
The week started with a meet and greet at the Art Gallery on Saturday, with a static display for the people of Warwick on Sunday. On Monday they went to Stanthorpe, Tuesday was rodeo day while Wednesday they took in the sites around Killarney and surrounding area. On Thursday they took part in a steam train ride to Clifton before the final presentation at the RSL in the evening.
