Explosive call

Warwick Police

POLICE responded to calls from a male claiming to have explosives on Thursday at about 8.30am.
It is understood an officer spoke with the man, who peacefully surrendered to police.
He was later transported to Warwick Hospital.

Crash probed
ABOUT 8.30am on Thursday, 17 June, police attended a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Dragon and Grafton streets.
Both vehicles suffered substantial damage, but no persons were injured.
Investigations into the cause of the crash continue.

Lost control
POLICE attended a single-vehicle accident at Industrial Ave on Friday at about 10am.
It appears the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing significant damage.
Police have seized the car for mechanical inspection.
The driver and passengers escaped injury.

Drink and drugs
A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a search of his vehicle revealed a small amount of cannabis.
The man was pulled over by police at Acacia Ave at about 11.40am on Sunday.
He was also charged with drinking driving, blowing .099.

Obscenities yelled
TWO people have been arrested in two separate public nuisance incidences for yelling obscenities at police.
The first involved a 23-year-old female who attended Warwick Police Station to complain about a matter and became abusive.
She ignored directions to calm down and stop swearing and was arrested out the front of the station.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old male was charged after he was caught outside the police station yelling obscene language at officers inside.
Police allege the language could be heard by people using the park across the road.
He was charged with causing a public nuisance and obstructing police.

Teen drink driver
A 17-year-old has been slapped with a notice to appear after being caught drink driving.
The teenager blew a blood alcohol concentration of .072 at about 1.45am on Sunday and will face Warwick’s Magistrate Court on 13 August.

Vehicle intercepts
AT 11.30pm on Friday, police intercepted a vehicle at Dragon Street where a 27-year-old Warwick man was issued with a notice to appear for driving while unlicensed.
Meanwhile, at 9.15pm on Wednesday, 16 July, police intercepted a vehicle at Wood Street where a 21-year-old man from Warwick was issued with a notice to appear for failing to drive with due care and attention.
