THEY’RE our constant companions, providing unconditional love and lending a supportive ear whenever needed.
And now pet owners can give thanks for their furry friends at a special blessing of the pets ceremony at Warwick’s St Mark’s Anglican Church this Sunday at 8.30am.
Animals great and small are welcome to attend the free service, which will take place at the rear of the church after a short sermon celebrating the life of St Francis of Assisi, patrons of animals.
Reverend Donna Petersen said pets, or furbabies as she liked to call them, played a major role in many people’s lives.
“We will pray over them, ask God for his blessing of the pet and owners and remember that God created everything in he world, including the relationships we have with animals,” she said.
“Everyone is welcome, we just ask that animals are either in a cage or restrained.”
