WARWICK Rodeo’s ambassador for 2014 has been crowned, with Erica Geppert taking out the Rodeo Queen Quest on Saturday night.
About 250 people packed Douglas Feez Pavilion to enjoy the festivities and hear the winners announced.
Not to be outdone, the 25-year-old also reigned supreme in three other sections – Queen Horsemanship, Queen People’s Choice and Overall Fundraiser.
Queen Quest co-ordinator and 2010 Rodeo Queen winner Kate Christensen said Ms Geppert was an impressive competitor.
“The girls spoke for three to five minutes on the topic of Warwick (on Friday night at the cocktail event). “Erica had lots of facts and figures that she recited with no palm cards – she was phenomenal.”
Ms Geppert, who manages the local R.M. Williams store, said she was “shocked” and “overwhelmed” when she heard her name called out.
“I just felt a sense of peace all of a sudden,” she said.
“Having the opportunity to represent the oldest and most famous rodeo in Australia is something very special.
“I feel so honoured … the confidence and experience this has given me is second to none.”
The avid polocrosse player will embark on an action-packed week of events and engagements beginning this weekend ahead of the Warwick Rodeo and Rose Festival’s official opening on Monday.
