THE annual Team Penning and Camdraft Skills weekend will be held at the Stanthorpe Showgrounds on Saturday and Sunday.
The event is hosted by the Stanthorpe Agricultural Society’s Campdraft and Team Penning sub-committee.
On the Saturday, gates open at 11am and the competition will start at 1pm with the Team Penning Fun Competition in the rodeo arena.
“We’ll have a finals competition under lights for the 10 fastest times from the general competition, and then present our prizes and prize-money,” campdraft secretary Paula Boatfield said.
The evening program will also include the popular Keith Thorne Building Farmer’s Challenge where teams demonstrate their prowess at a range of “farm related” activities.
Sunday’s program includes a range of campdraft related activities including cut out instruction and round one peg, shadowing/mirror work, mechanical cow, etc. “Proceeds from this weekend will contribute to our showgrirl fund-raising for Gemma Osbaldeston,” Paula said.
