Vellacott brothers in da house

The Vellacott Trio will launch their CD on Friday night in a unique way.

SOUTHERN Downs-based band the Vellacott Trio are doing everything possible to ensure the launch of their first EP is a big success this Friday night, including giving away a gig.
The brothers are offering the chance to win their services for a house party, a 21st party, a wedding, or even a backyard barbecue.
Band leader and oldest brother Ben said the boys are super keen for one lucky supporter to have their own special event or party as part of the EP launch promotions.
“If you’re the winner the band will come along to your function and make sure your guests are treated to a rocking good time,” he said.
“This is a way to say thanks for the support we’ve received so far and, hopefully, it will motivate plenty of live music supporters to come along and enjoy our launch night.”
Fans have the chance to enter the gig competition via entries in the Warwick Daily News or by showing up at the launch party and entering at the door.
The prize is a three hour gig to be played by 30 November and will be subject to the band’s availability and pre-bookings.
The gig must be in the Southern Downs local government area.
Ben said he would have been happy if 50 people came along, but he is starting to enjoy the very positive buzz around the launch party, which could see many more show up to support the brothers.
The night will kick off with local favourites Port Paradise followed by Gold Coast band The Flame Fields.
Doors open from 6.30pm, with entry just $5.
CDs and T-shirts will be available for purchase on the night and for those who can’t make it along to the launch, the Vellacott Trio’s EP will be downloadable from iTunes.
