Blues skills from the bay band

Members of the Jesse Morris Band will be sharing their skills.

BYRON Bay’s blues, roots and reggae troubadours the Jesse Morris Band will be playing two special shows and running a young artists’ workshop in Tenterfield this coming Saturday, 11 April, at 2pm and 7pm.
To celebrate Youth Week from 2pm to 5pm all young performers and their families and friends are being urged to attend the Tenterfield School of Arts for an open mic style talent quest, a workshop on instrumentation with the Jesse Morris Band and a special performance for the youth by the traveling musicians.
Those who can sing, play an instrument, dance, tell jokes or juggle are urged to get in touch with the school of arts or turn up on the day at 2pm to register.
There will be prizes and giveaways for participation and some dedicated one-on-one time with the professional performers to discuss instrumentation, practice, how to get gigs, touring essentials and all things music and performance.
Later that night the Jesse Morris Band will be on stage from 7pm to 10pm at the Commercial Boutique Hotel where they will be performing their original blues, roots and reggae while raising awareness for a school and community centre for Cambodian kids and sharing their positive messages about the earth, the land, the ocean, change and growth.
Those who are under 18 years old and who want to be involved in the talent quest and workshops are urged to contact the school of arts or turn up on the day at 2pm.
