PUNCH LINE
Three Warwick boxers who entered for the Global Boxing Titles on Saturday came home with two titles and one near miss.
First to fight was Scott Parry who having his first ever bout defeated Cunnamulla boxer Eric Hall for the 38kg title. Quite an achievement for his debut into boxing.
Next to bring home a title was Paul Parry who won on a forfeit when others in the 57kg class declined to box him.
Last but not least of the ‘Warwick’ boxers to fight was Josh Smith who, in normal life is a horse breaker showed all the toughness of his profession in losing to well-performed Terrence Tremacchi in what was undoubtedly the fight of the night. Smith who was having only his second bout fought a boxer who had won his last four bouts by K.O.
All the Warwick boxers were trained at the “Warwick Boxing Academy” in King Street, Warwick. – Roy Parry
