THERE’S a big bounty to be won at the Warwick Picnic Races this Saturday, not only from picking a winning steed, but landing first place in the fashions on the field line-up.
The best-dressed man, woman and couple will go home with hundreds of dollars worth of prizes, from designer eyewear to jewellery.
Of course, with big prizes comes big competition so make sure you tick the judges’ boxes to be in with a chance at the title.
Our top tips for best-dressed hopefuls are to prepare for the elements, let your personality shine through, rock a statement hat, be on trend with the latest fashion themes, and and above all don’t break the bank.
And keep in mind that the most attractive accessory is always confidence.
Of course, horses, BYO picnics, bars and live music will also be the focus of the day at the 121st Ergon Energy Warwick Picnic Races at Allman Park.
Warwick Turf Club Secretary Kristen Doyle said more than 1000 people were expected to walk through the gates at this year’s event.
“There will be five races and four fashion on the field categories, including best-dressed lady, gentleman, couple and hat or fascinator,“ Ms Doyle said.
Rose City Shoppingworld will once again present the competition with prizes from John Duggan, Amcal Chemist, Lowes, Millers, Big W, Rose City Jewellers, Clare’s Hair Together and True Beauty, Eyecare Eyewear and Prouds the Jewellers.
The parade and judging will be between races two and three at 2.10pm.
Gates open at 11.30am.
The Calcutta will be on Friday at the Palace Hotel in Warwick from 6.30pm. For more information visit www.warwickturfclub.org.au
