Now – what to bring

SO YOU’VE made you appointment with your tax agent, now to work out what to bring to your appointment.
It’s always a good idea to phone ahead to find out what’s needed, but here is a list of documents more tax agents will need you to bring with you to make sure your tax is lodged quickly.
– Don’t forget your most recent tax return and notice of assessment. This would have been sent to you by the ATO.
– Payment summary from your employer/s and information on any allowances you are awarded.
– Check your bank to see what interest you have earned this past financial year. If you don’t have a savings account it’s not likely to be much, but be sure to check in advance.

– Receipts for the purchase of protective clothing or uniforms, plus sun protection expenses.
– Any receipts for home office running expenses and telephone expenses.
– Union membership receipts and receipts for subscriptions to trade magazines.
– Don’t forget your bank account details as well as your private health cover statement and receipts for any medical expenses over $2000.
