JAZZ and Jumpers in July organisers are hailing this year’s School Tree decorating competition as their most successful ever.
Warwick Art Gallery director and festival co-organiser Karina Devine said record numbers and amazing creativity had highlighted the 2015 event.
“Thirteen schools – the largest number ever – decorated their building, ground and trees with artworks inspired by the theme Feather,” she said.
“All schools did a fantastic job and put smiles on the weary faces of the festival team,” she said.
“Thanks to the other schools for participating. The judges, myself, Tracy Vellacott and Naomi Smith (USA) had the difficult task of deciding the winners.”
This year’s winners were Scots PGC with St Mary’s Upper School in second and Warwick West State School in third.
She said all schools conducted themselves well, and congratulated all the participants including, Glennie Heights State School, Warwick Central State School, Warwick Christian College, Yangan State School, St Mary’s Lower School, Little Tackers, Allora State School, Wheatvale State School and Murray’s Bridge State School.
