Southern Cross Bowls
Today Thursday 23 July will be the club’s Cool Scarves and Silly Socks bowls day. This event is part of Jumpers n Jazz week celebrations and anyone, both ladies and men are welcome to come along and enjoy a game of bowls. Proceedings will start off with a sausage sizzle at noon and play at 1pm. It would be appreciated if your names can be in by noon. There are trophies for winners and runners-up also a multi draw raffle. Don’t forget to put on your crazy scarf and bright socks.
The visit in from the Downs Diggers this coming Saturday 25 July has been cancelled, so there will now be social mixed bowls only starting at 1pm.
Thank you to our ladies for catering for the District Men’s presidents singles last Saturday. Well done to Dave for reaching the semi-finals.

There will be social bowls as usual on Saturday. Play starts at 1pm with names in by 12.30pm. Visitors, both bowlers and non-bowlers, are very welcome to come along and join in.

Last Sunday, Men’s Section president Jim Rickard and Ladies’ president Judith Cutmore held their sponsored bowls afternoon. The weather was wonderful and so was the roll up of members. Thirty members took to the green for a very pleasant and friendly afternoon. Jim and Judith thanked everyone for attending, and the members who helped on the day, and also Leonie Rickard and Delcie Welsh who handled the kitchen duties. Results of play: A. Naylor, H. Ladies Section: Congratulations to presidents Judith and Jim on a great afternoon last Sunday. The Quarterly Birthday Luncheon at Gardens Galore was a great success with 14 attending, and there were six apologies. Thank you to Gardens Galore for the wonderful meals. Friday 14 August: The Monthly General Meeting will be held at 10am.
