Aldi opens in Stanthorpe

By DANE LILLINGSTONE

SUPERMARKET Aldi will officially open its doors in Stanthorpe this week.
After being approved in 2014, the store received some backlash over whether it was justified opening in Stanthorpe with the town already home to a Woolworths and IGA.
Two years later, everything has gone to plan as the store, located at 7 Matthew Street, Stanthorpe, will cover a total of 1572 square metres with 1037 square metres of retail area.
It is believed the store will create upwards of 20 jobs and has the potential to force lower prices in competitors.
It will be opened Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am-7pm, Thursday 8.30am-8pm and Saturday 8am-5pm.
Since arriving on our shores in 2001, Aldi has opened over 350 stores in Australia.
