Music on the mountain

GET ready for three days of music and fun with the Bony Mountain Music Festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 18 to 20 September.
Friday night will see the legendary Sheik of Scrubby Creek Chad Morgan performing one show only as well as The Coads for a full Friday night performance.
Saturday is Family Day with free entry for school-age kids with Pirate Cave free activities all day and including a treasure hunt and pirate parade.
Saturday is also the day the music festival will be officially opened by Southern Downs MP Lawrence Springborg at 10am.
Entertainment-wise this is a big day with a full program including Irish dancers, The Coads, The Wuppies, Brian Letton, Bush Balladeers, Cicada Dancers, Warwick Choral Society and the Warwick Pipe Thistle Band.
In the evening there will be performances by Murphy’s Pigs, Norma O’Hara Murphy and Brian Letton.
Sunday will feature something a little different and special with a commemoration ceremony for the Dungaree March in 1915 from 9am including the Warwick Light Horsemen and Anzac memorial.
The fabulous Bluegrass/Gospel Band Runaway Dixie will perform a two-hour show from 10am with performances by the Bush Balladeers and then a farewell evening concert with Norma and friends along with Brian Letton.
Other special guests this year will include the Redland Bluegrass Boyz and a special So You think You’re Elvis event from 2pm on Sunday.
