Clifton trivia night

Clifton High School SRC president, Sarah Mantova, and her sister, Lucy, caught up with Australian Diamonds captain, Laura Geitz, of Allora, after her Netball World Cup win against New Zealand in Sydney.

CLIFTON State High School will be hosting a Sports Trivia Night, at the Clifton Jam Factory on Friday 16 October.
Student Representative Council president Sarah Mantova said that being the Year of Sport at Clifton high, they couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.
“It has been a big year for sport in this country, with Australia hosting World Cups in both cricket and netball, and winning both,” Ms Mantova said.
“It’s especially significant with local connection, Laura Geitz, from Allora, at the helm of the winning Diamonds team.
“Australia is a major sporting nation, and the Darling Downs has produced many sporting greats including Greg Holmes from Allora (Wallabies), Claire McMeniman, from Warwick (Firebirds and Diamonds), and Matt Denny, from Allora.”
Teams of four to eight are invited to nominate for the night which will get underway at 6.30pm.
Tickets are on sale for $15 per person, which includes hot finger food and soft drink and there will be cash prizes for the winning team and runners-up.
The night will also feature a multi-draw raffle of various sporting items, including a Maroons football, netball, and tennis racket, plus sports vouchers, meat trays, and more.
An auction will also be held with the feature being a Limited Edition framed print from the Sydney 2000 Olympics complete with signatures from all Australian gold medallists including Cathy Freeman, which has been donated by Howard White.
Entertainment will be provided by band, “No Direction”, consisting of three staff members, Ian Craig, Dom Clarke and Louis Reen.
