IT’s on again!
Tractors have been shined and vintage and veteran cars and motorcycles are on their way – it’s time for the annual Allora Heritage Weekend at the Allora Show Ground on Saturday and Sunday.
Warwick Veteran and Vintage Club president Peter Stacy said it promised to be a big two-day event.
He said this year’s event would include British and American tractors, British cars, Mack trucks, Southern Cross engines, early American motorcycles, vintage and veteran cars and trucks, antiques, historical machinery, motorcycles, horse drawn machinery, country music and bush poets.
“On behalf of the members of the Warwick Veteran and Vintage Vehicle Club I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our visitors on this the 20th Heritage Weekend at Allora and hope that a safe and enjoyable experience is what you have whilst you are here with us,” he said.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all club members and their families and all our local volunteers for their collective hard work in getting this weekend up and running.
“This year we have two guests of honour, Mick Bradford with his heavy horses and Ralph Affleck with a log skidder he designed, built, and has operated in his sawmill, which he operates by himself, for over 40 years.
“Please take the time to seek these two people out and marvel at their stories.
“Enjoy the hospitality being extended to you over the event and have simply the best time you can in this lovely part of the world.
“We hope to see all of you back here next year.”
Catering and drinks are available for purchase all day including breakfast from approximately 7am.
“Our thanks to the combined churches, schools and local vendors for their catering efforts throughout the weekend,” he said.
