MORE than 400 senior high school students, including several representatives from the Southern Downs, will visit USQ Toowoomba on Friday 13 May for Student Experience Day.
Year 11 and 12 high school students from across the Darling Downs and interstate will participate in academic taster sessions that are tailored to study or career interests.
Topics to be covered on the day include what university life is like, what you can study at USQ and the benefits of pursuing a tertiary education.
USQ vice-chancellor and president Professor Jan Thomas said students would spend the day experiencing what it was like to be a university student.
“There will be tours of the campus, a range of interactive academic sessions as well as a chance to speak with USQ academics and current students,” Professor Thomas said.
“This experience gives high school students the chance to explore different areas of study as they face decisions about their future career options.”
