Naughty but nice

Agro and his old pal Jamie Dunn head to the RSL this week.

HE was naughty enough on TV and radio but imagine if someone took iconic puppet performer Agro off the leash so to speak.
A household name and much loved, Agro is set to bring his politically incorrect brand of humour to the live stage and is at the Warwick RSL on 28 May – where he can be as naughty as he wants (and yes this is a strictly adult only show).
From the late ’80s, and throughout most of the ’90s, Agro, and his alter ego Jamie Dunn, were streamed into every home in the country. The star of “Agro’s Cartoon Connection” (winner of seven Logie Awards), “The Super Saturday Show”, and “Wombat”, struck a chord with children and adults alike.
He was the guest every show wanted, and appeared on all the top rating shows such as “Family Feud”, “Tonight Live with Steve Vizard” (which he also hosted), “Wheel of Fortune”, “Hey Dad”, and more recently “The Morning Show” and “Daily Edition”.
Now fans can relive his special brand of innuendo, comedy and unrelenting pokes and jabs at those that deserve it.
Featured in “Agro Up Late” will be goof tape clips, stories from behind the scenes of the iconic character and shows, and a special guest co-host.
“The chemistry is still as sharp as it was when he was on national TV,” producer Damien Lee said.
“We felt the time was right to lure Agro back into the spotlight, seeing that some YouTube clips of his shows are nearing 1,000,000 hits, and they are still being remembered fondly on social media.”
Another feature of the show is the special meet and greet following the performance. Fans are encouraged to talk with Jamie and Agro, as well as have their photos taken, all included in the ticket price.
Agro Up Late is on at 8pm on Saturday 28 May, at the Warwick RSL, call on (07) 4661 1229.
