WORK is well underway on the Sandy Creek Road Bridge as photographer Terry West discovered when he was out there at the weekend.
Southern Downs Regional Council’s Director Engineering Services, Peter See, says the project is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
“Construction is continuing on the Sandy Creek Road bridge replacement project,” he said.
“The bridge works are completed, with the exception of the guard rails which are yet to be installed, and the approach roadworks are in progress.
“Ark Construction Group Pty Ltd was engaged by council to undertake the project to remove the old timber bridge and construct a new concrete bridge.
“This project was one of the four bridge replacement projects funded on a 75:25 basis under the Queensland Government’s ‘Royalties for Regions’ program.”
