IT’S exciting times at the Southern Free Times with newly-appointed sales staff members and a very experienced editor to continue the growth of your free weekly newspaper.
Group Advertising Manager Phill Le Petit said new editor Jeremy Sollars commenced with the Southern Free Times this week and brings a wealth of experience in journalism combined with local knowledge to the paper.
Sales staff Judy Abernethy of Killarney and Warwick’s Natasha Sheahan complement current sales team members Bryan Pask and Lisa Crouch.
Mr Le Petit said it was gratifying to work within the ever-changing newspaper landscape with a truly independent newspaper organisation, the Star News Group, which was established in Victoria in 1909.
“Believe me when I say that print media is not dead, especially in regional areas as we deliver hyper-local content and a means by which to create and engage in conversation,” Mr Le Petit said.
“We will strive to ensure our paper maintains its relevance and importance to the local Southern Downs community it serves.
“We are the voice of the people and the champion of grievances and concerns and we will continue to play that role.
“Congratulations to Jeremy, Judy and Natasha on their appointments and I am confident the Southern Free Times will continue to deliver local news in the printed form and via constant updates on our website and social media for many years to come.”
