Rocky run to paradise

Full dress rehearsal at the Warwick Town Hall last Sunday.

Anyone passing the Warwick Town Hall this week will have heard the strains of great Aussie Rock from within the sandstone walls.
Warwick State High School students have been in rehearsal for their 2017 production ‘The Great Australian Rock Musical’ and were in fine voice at a full dress rehearsal last Sunday.
The musical premieres at the Town Hall tonight, Thursday 1 June, at 7pm and plays Friday and Saturday nights.
Follow the story of Troy, Darren, Kazza, and Shazza who decide to get hitched at the B and S ball. Just when you think these ‘working class men’ – and ladies – are going to Run to Paradise, trouble strikes when we find out one of the boys is actually the heir to a fortune and promised in marriage to someone else, and the fun and games begin.
The musical features classics from AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Skyhooks, Dragon, The Choir Boys, Daddy Cool, J.O.K., Sherbet, the Ted Mulry Gang, Jet, Billy Thorpe, Rick Springfield, Divinyls, The Screaming Jets, Cold Chisel and more.
Tickets are still available from the student resource centre for tonight’s premiere and limited numbers are still up for grabs for tomorrow night, Friday – Saturday is a sell-out – $15 for adults and $10 for students/pensioners/concessions. Don’t delay, they are selling fast!
