UPDATE, 3.30PM: The New England Highway south of Warwick is closed in the vicinity of a large bushfire in the Rosenthal Heights area this afternoon, Sunday 14 January.
Multiple fire crews are continuing to work to contain the fire in the Ranger Road and Kingsleigh Road area.
The fire is being fanned by a strong westerly wind, with more than a dozen urban and rural fire crews on the scene. The fire has not yet jumped the highway and crews are battling to keep it on the western side of the road.
The fire originated from a controlled burn on Friday which re-ignited earlier this afternoon.
