Functional property under hammer

Positioned ideally to capitalise on New South Wales northern weaner markets, Gilgurry is the ideal low-cost breeder operation.

It is situated about 50km east of Tenterfield, 250km to Brisbane and 270km to the Gold Coast, in the Boorook region.

There are four freehold titles and one perpetual lease comprising 168.7 hectares or 416.9 acres – so 420.11 hectares or 1038 acres in total, well-fenced into five paddocks.

Gilgurry Creek and Wattle Creek, together with three dams and three small spring-fed dams ensure the property is well watered.

Gilgurry has enjoyed a long tenure giving testimony to the property’s reliability.

It is a functional property, currently running 70 breeders with 70 replacement heifers, combined with lifestyle and development attributes.

Gilgurry offers low-cost cattle country free of any excessive structural improvements. Structural improvements include a set of timber cattleyards, a steel frame weekender with verandah, fireplace and water connected, a machinery shed and the original hut.

The property has been held in the one family for more than 90 years and will be sold at auction to fulfil commitment.

The auction will be held on Friday 7 April at 10.30am, Level 26, 111 Eagle Street, Brisbane.

Contact Mark Clothier, Ray White Tenterfield, on 0459 111 083.
