Birthday fun at Spanos IGA

Spanos IGA in both Warwick and Stanthorpe celebrated the family company’s 30th anniversary on Saturday with cakes, facepainting, prizes and fun at both locations.

Owner Frank Spanos said the event had part of the 30-year birthday celebrations for Spano’s IGA.

“My family and I have operated retail supermarkets now for the past 30 years across Southeast Queensland,” he said.

“We also have one in Gatton, one in Mermaid, one at Nerang and one at Robina. Our first store was on the Isle of Capri, we no longer operate there anymore but our first IGA was IGA Mermaid Waters.

“We have been at Stanthorpe for 15 years and Warwick will be 10 years on October 16.”

The company is giving away free groceries to a lucky winner from one of the six stores at the end of the three week celebration.
