Country market celebrates milestone

Woodenbong Yowie Country Market and Music Day has just celebrated its third birthday. Held on the last Saturday of the month from 8am to 3pm, the event has heralded many memories and fun times for locals, visitors and tourists alike.
A party ambience prevailed at this milestone date with balloons, banners and good cheer.
Woodenbong offers a country atmosphere, rural hospitality and beautiful mountain scenery en-route and the Woodenbong Public Hall and grounds is a great venue with amenities with wheelchair access and has a children’s playground on site.
The location allows for inside
and outside stalls in an all-weather venue.
The live music is a great addition to the event and the public seating gazebos allow for a comfortable audience position.
Hot food, tea, coffee and a great variety of stalls ensures there is something for everyone.
Face painting and Woodenbong Arts Group (WAG) children’s activities cater for smiles on many faces and WAG workshops allow persons of any age to dabble in new art and craft styles.
Some months the movie committee runs a children’s movie matinee in the main Public Hall as an added bonus.
The monthly raffle of a dinner for two at the Woodenbong Hotel is always popular, with 36 happy winners to date.
A local genus of Yowies visit regularly, which excites and amuses not only the children.
The Woodenbong Yowie Country Market community committee would like to thank Kyogle Shire, all visitors and the stallholders who have supported the market events over this period and hope to see you return soon.
