Warwick’s Lilian Burrill in Australian Orienteering Team again!

Warwick’s elite junior orienteer, Lilian Burrill (pictured), has been named in the Australian team to contest the Junior World Orienteering Championships, which are being held in Poland from July 1-9.
This is the third time Lilian has represented Australia after also making the team in 2009 and 2010.
Queensland’s junior female orienteers again demonstrated their depth of talent, filling three of the six positions in the Australian girls’ team.
Lilian’s inclusion in the team follows some excellent performances at the Australian 3 Days held over Easter in Western Australia, which also doubled as the selection races.
She was placed fifth in the W17-20E field at the Prologue event on Easter Friday and then finished third on each of the following days to end up in third position overall.
Last Saturday at the Australian Sprint Orienteering Championships held at Mandurah, south of Perth, Lilian scored a second placing in the W17-20E class and then was placed seventh at the Australian Middle Distance Championships held near York, east of Perth, the following day.
