Flood recovery support

Recovering from the devastating floods of 2011 is a long, slow process for the farmers in the Queensland Murray-Darling Basin, but they are receiving a helping hand from keen volunteer groups and regional businesses.
A generous $20,000 donation has been made by NAB Agribusiness to help keep the volunteers of the Basin Flood Recovery Team in the field. NAB Agribusiness Darling Downs and South West Queensland regional agribusiness manager Jason Lipp said the Basin Flood Recovery Team was helping farmers across the region recover.
“The floods were not all bad news. I believe there will be longer term gain along with the short-term pain,” he said.
“The positive outcome of all that water really comes back to a build-up of subsoil moisture and aquifer refill for the coming seasons. It’s also great to see the morale boost provided by the volunteers of the Basin Flood Recovery Team; they’re incredible.”
