Showcase of community activities, entertainment

After many hundreds of hours of work, John Eastwell, assisted by Alan Taylor and other club members, completely stripped and restored an old steel wheel wagon for the Warwick and District Country Music Club.
The wagon was donated to the club by member John Nation for the purpose of being used as a mobile stage when members perform at different functions.
They will also enter it as their float in the Warwick Rodeo Procession in October.
The country music club doesn’t know when the wagon was first manufactured but they estimate it would be at least 80 years old.
The wagon will be the main stage at the club’s community showcase weekend at the Slade Campus on the weekend of October 15-16.
The aim of this weekend is to have music, dance, arts, crafts, educational, sporting or any other group from within the Southern Downs Regional Council region together for a weekend of entertainment, displays and demonstrations. Food and market stalls will also be a very important part of this weekend.
They would like to invite all organisations to participate in this weekend to show the community what services, recreational and cultural activities are available in our region.   The picturesque Slade Campus, with its well maintained grounds and shady trees, is the perfect setting for an event such as this.
As this will be a charitable fundraising event, an entrance fee of $5 per person will be charged. There will be no extra fee for setting up your stall. Primary school children will be admitted free.
